Just wanna start this review with a shout-out to my long-time follower, kirksroom! He requested me to review this film since October 2014 and only NOW I’m getting to it! I almost got to it a few months ago, but a case of mistaken identity regarding the movie he wanted me to review resulted in it being prolonged even more.
I apologize to you, kirksroom, for taking so long to do this film! So without further ado, let’s see whether I enjoy this “comedic kidnapping caper” as much as kirksroom does! Time to review No Deposit, No Return!

Race to Witch Mountain (2009)

Since I’ve finished reviewing Escape to Witch Mountain and Return from Witch Mountain, it’s time to talk about that third film in the series: the remake/reboot, Race to Witch Mountain.
Technically, this is actually the 5th film in the series as there were two TV films released before this: Beyond Witch Mountain in 1982 and a remake of Escape to Witch Mountain in 1995. But since my blog is only devoted to the theatrical releases, I only have to review the 2009 film, Race to Witch Mountain.

So, the question arises: Since these Witch Mountain films are somewhat of a success or at least relatively famous, can rebooting the franchise/remaking the film and updating it for a modern audience work? Let’s find out.

Return from Witch Mountain (1978)

Escape to Witch Mountain was a film that you just gotta love. It had charm, mostly good acting, and an interesting storyline. Sure, it was filled with plotholes, but the overall experience of the film made you not care much about them.
It wasn’t long before a sequel was made by mostly the same people who worked on the first one. Is Return from Witch Mountain as good as its predecessor or is it one of those sequels that just fails? Let’s find out!

Imagine a film filled with paranormal activity,

I mean a DISNEY film filled with paranormal activity, two orphans, Dr. Loomis from Halloween, and Ali Hakim from Oklahoma!. What type of film can this possibly be? Well, it’s the 1975 film, Escape to Witch Mountain.
It’s a film that seems fit to be shown during the Halloween time, although it’s more pleasant than scary. Actually it isn’t scary at all. Let’s take a closer look at this paranormal film that somehow isn’t scary!
