Actress and Comedienne, Cloris Leachman, Dies at 94

In sad news, veteran actress and comedienne, Cloris Leachman, has passed away at the age of 94. Ms. Leachman (1926-2021) was probably most famous for her television role as Phyllis Lindstrom in The Mary Tyler Moore Show and its spinoff, Phyllis.

She appeared in multiple films throughout her career including The Last Picture ShowYoung FrankensteinHigh AnxietyThe Muppet MovieHistory of the World, Part I, A Troll in Central Park, The Iron Giant, and The Croods. She also appeared in a few live-action Disney films including Charley and the Angel, The North Avenue Irregulars, Herbie Goes Bananas, and Sky High.

My condolences go out to her family and friends. She shall be missed!

You know what comes to my mind when I think of Herbie, the Love Bug? Racing? What rubbish! I, of course, think of annoying kids, cruise ships, bullfights, and Incan treasure thieves!

Or am I?

Directed by the late Vincent McEveety, Herbie Goes Bananas is not only the fourth entry in the franchise, but also the worst one, by far! Read my review to see what I mean!

A reverend named Albert Fay Hill passed away in 2014. He was most famously known for creating a citizen’s task force made up of women who helped bring down local gambling dens. He later published a book about it in 1968 and Disney adapted it as a comedy film in 1979.

Today, we are going to be reviewing that very film at the request of long-time follower and fellow blogger friend, Rachel Wagner. Sit back and relax as we take a look at The North Avenue Irregulars!
