Tomorrowland (2015)
(If this is your first time on this blog, I ask you to read my About page first! You can find a link to it at the top left-hand corner of this blog. Thanks!)
This is a movie that was enveloped in a lot of secrecy when it was first announced. We had no idea what it would be about! When we heard the title, Tomorrowland, for the first time, we assumed it had something to do with the section in the Disney theme parks of the same name. The only thing we really knew and were pinning our hopes on was that the director was going to be Brad Bird of Pixar fame.
Unfortunately, when the film was released, it got mixed reviews and didn’t do all that well in the box office. Yet, there were still some Disney fans who said that this film was actually a treasure that audiences just didn’t appreciate. So, what do I think about the film? Do I agree with the overall critics and think the film is a mixed bag? Or do I agree with the others who say that this film is actually quite underrated? Let’s find out! Let’s take a look at Tomorrowland!

A reverend named Albert Fay Hill passed away in 2014. He was most famously known for creating a citizen’s task force made up of women who helped bring down local gambling dens. He later published a book about it in 1968 and Disney adapted it as a comedy film in 1979.
Today, we are going to be reviewing that very film at the request of long-time follower and fellow blogger friend, Rachel Wagner. Sit back and relax as we take a look at The North Avenue Irregulars!

In 1992, a musical film directed by Kenny Ortega was released. The film received negative reviews and ended up flopping at the box office, but gained quite a cult following throughout the years.

The popularity of the film was so great that the film was eventually adapted as a proper Broadway musical! So, is this film a hidden treasure that just wasn’t understood or appreciated when it first came out? Or is this film honestly deserving of its initial negative reviews? Let’s find out as we explore the cultural phenomenon that is Newsies!
(This was a request by one of my readers. I forget who it was though, so sorry!)
