For some reason, I didn’t make a post last year for the upcoming live-action Disney films. At least I didn’t forget about it this year. With 2022 coming to an end, I’m postponing my usual post to take a look at the upcoming live-action Disney films coming out in 2023!
Keep in mind that these are only the films with set theatrical or streaming release dates at the moment and do not include any documentaries, Marvel films, or Star Wars films. So, sit back and enjoy!
1) THE LITTLE MERMAID [May 26, 2023]
Disney’s live-action remake of the animated film that started the Disney Renaissance, the film is about a mermaid princess falls in love with a human prince.
Starring Halle Bailey, Jonah Hauer-King, Melissa McCarthy, Javier Bardem, Daveed Diggs, Jacob Tremblay, Awkwafina, etc.

2) HAUNTED MANSION [August 11, 2023]
Disney’s second attempt at making a film based on their popular Haunted Mansion ride, the film is about a single mom and her son moving into a haunted mansion.
Starring Rosario Dawson, LaKeith Stanfield, Owen Wilson, Tiffany Haddish, Danny DeVito, Jared Leto, Jamie Lee Curtis, etc.
Directed by Justin Simien
Other live-action Disney films planned for 2023, but don’t have set release dates yet include Chang Can Dunk and Peter Pan & Wendy.
