50 Movies Milestone!

Hello readers,

I’ve finally hit a milestone and reviewed 50 movies (well, 52, to be precise) on this live-action Disney blog of mine. When I started this blog in 2013, I did it out of a desire to watch and review these films as this was a niche that nobody else seemed to have covered. It also helped my blogging skills and has been great fun! I’m glad that I never quit and actually made it to the big 50!

I wanna thank you readers for making this blog as such a success as it is and giving me a reason to continue it! We’re far from finished, but I just wanna say I appreciate all that you’ve done so far!

So to celebrate, let me know in the comments which has been your favorite review of mine on this blog. Also don’t forget that you can click on the Index button at the top left to see an alphabetical index of all the movies that I’ve reviewed so far. You can also click on the Ranking the Films button on the top left to see how the films rank so far from best to worst.

Thanks again! Here’s to the next 50 films!

  1. Congrats! While you give way more Fs than I ever would (still a bit bitter over the F to Pollyanna) I’ve really enjoyed the reviews especially for films like Light in the Forest which I hadn’t heard of.

    1. Thanks, I’m myself shocked at the F for ‘Pollyanna’, lol. In my defense, it was one of the first set of films that I reviewed, so I was still getting used to my rating system.

Besides that and maybe The Love Bug, do you disagree with any of my other F-rated films?

      1. I have issues with Secretariat but I wouldn’t give it an F. I save the Fs for films I think are terrible.
I also think Love Bug, Bridge to Terabithia, and Babes in Toyland have some redeeming value, not complete failures which is what I think of an F. But as long as you are happy with your grades that’s all that matters. I appreciate your efforts.

  2. I still stand by my belief that ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ could have reached a C+ or B on your rating system, as there’s more merit then I felt you gave credit for, such as the stirring music, inspiring visuals, and pretty good performances (especially from Lucy). But, I guess that is entirely subjective.

I also wasn’t too pleased with the rating you gave ‘The Muppet Christmas Carol’, even though I somewhat understood your critique of Michael Caine’s Scrooge and the quality of the songs. I dunno, I just felt that even without the nostalgia goggles it stood the test of time very nicely.

With all that said, I still think you’re very much on point when it comes to the quality of many of these Disney films, it’s great to see you praise a great one (like Mary Poppins) as much as it is to see you burn a bad one (like Maleficent). Well done reaching this great milestone, I hope for many years of thoughtful and engaging reviews to come!! 🙂

    1. Thanks for the comment! It’s awesome to know that someone actually reads my reviews fully and pays attention to what score I give to each section in a movie!

It’s been a while since I’ve watched an “F” movie, so I haven’t had a need to burn a movie in a long time, so that’s good.
