Gus (1976)

While many American football fans were watching Super Bowl LV on February 7, 2021, some people, including myself, were watching the 1976 Disney film, Gus instead (although my watching it that weekend was purely coincidental). After all, it does center around American football…basically. How good is this Vincent McEveety-directed film? Read on to find out!

The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again (1979)

The Apple Dumpling Gang was a film said to be the most successful Disney film of the 1970’s, hence it was only natural that a sequel to it would be made. However, this sequel would not star the main characters, Dusty and Donovan, from the first movie. Instead, it would focus on what many people would consider the runaway hit characters from the first film: the bumbling thieves, Theodore and Amos.

A similar decision was made in the original Pink Panther film series.
A similar decision was made in the original The Pink Panther film series.

So, is this film any good compared to The Apple Dumpling Gang or any good at all, for that matter? Or is this just a shoddy sequel created for the sole purpose of making money? Well, let’s take a look and find out!

When one thinks of classic live-action Disney films, one generally thinks of films from the ’60s such as “Mary Poppins”, “The Love Bug”, “The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes”, “Pollyanna”, “Swiss Family Robinson”, “The Parent Trap”, etc. But the ’70s also had its share of classics. Today we’ll look at one of these classic ’70s Disney films in particular, “The Apple Dumpling Gang”.
