Today’s film is a film that I think has become somewhat forgotten nowadays. I think mainly it has to do with the fact that we haven’t seen a movie based on this franchise in 5 years due to problematic rights issues.

But, when it came out, this movie was a pretty big deal. Everybody was excited about it and it was the 3rd highest-grossing film worldwide for 2005. But, is it any good? Well, let’s take a look at The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

If you asked me to give an example of a Disney film that is of the adventure genre, I would have to say: The Island at the Top of the World.

Based on a novel by Ian Cameron, this film is so Jules Verne-like in terms of its adventure. The story just reeks of adventure and not a minute goes by where you don’t feel a sense of adventure. Granted it’s not as fast-paced as later films such as the Indiana Jones franchise, but it’s still the most adventurous Disney film in my opinion. Without further ado, let’s begin the review of this film!

In terms of live-action, Disney is known for doing a plethora of sports films, so it’s about time that I reviewed a sports film for this blog. And why not start with the sport of horse racing with Disney’s SecretariatThe film is based on the true story of the racehorse of the same name and its owner, Penny Chenery.

Let’s go straight to the horse’s mouth and see if Disney sports films are good or whether this is just a horse of a different color.

During the ’80s, Disney was trying to make their films more adult/more scary/more non-Disney, so to speak. We’ve seen this already in Something Wicked This Way Comes. Now we’re gonna see it again in this film entitled The Watcher in the Woods. Based on a novel, this film is considered a cult classic to many and after having seen it, count me in with that group. Will you be part of that group too? Let’s take a look!
